This Rock's Story
This rock was created in memory of a very special friend of mine, Kimberly Phillips-Moore, who earned her angel wings unexpectedly on July 19th 2018, just a few days shy of her fiftieth birthday.
Also, this ‘rock’ is actually a piece of a broken sea shell collected from the sandy shores of Assateague Island in Maryland. I found more pleasure in collecting the ‘ugly’ or less wanted shells, so I could bring them home, paint them, and show the world their beauty with a little TLC.
A post written by Kim’s husband on her Facebook page to wish her a happy birthday in heaven stating some very important advice about life.
“Get the sprinkles on your ice cream cone, wear crazy socks or the silly earrings, paint your room pink and purple, don't save the good perfume for a special occasion, sing your favorite guilty pleasure song out loud, and loudly. Do the little things that make YOU smile. And, help others, people and animals. I've studied philosophy and pondered at length about the meaning of life, but there it is, courtesy of Kim.”
I am sharing the link to Kim’s obituary below. Please feel free to read what a beautiful person Kim was and still is as her giving spirit and heart still shine over all of her friends and family (both furry and non :))
Kim, thank you for helping to provide me with the best possible friend I could have ever asked for with a wrinkly butt, four legs and a tail.
