I am grateful for ______.

Gratitude is defined as the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness. For us rock painters, we're grateful when we find a painted rock. We realize someone took their time to paint that rock for the sole intent of that rock being found and unexpectedly brightening someone's day. We often return the kindness by re-hiding that rock so that same joy can be experienced by a new rock finder. And, we're grateful when someone takes the time to post that they've found our rock. Some of the stories rock finders leave behind after finding a rock are just heartwarming.

There is research that shows there is real benefit to practicing regular gratitude , including better sleep and experiencing more positive emotions.
